Infant’s Healed Sight
My daughter Raegan, who is now 14 months old, was born with a rare medical condition called Septo-Optic Dysplasia. The manifestations of this condition can vary, but essentially her pituitary gland and optic nerves did not form fully. This causes her to have a number of hormone deficiencies (she does not make cortisol, thyroid hormone or growth hormone). Additionally, her optic nerves are very small – our doctors had initially told us that we would really have to wait and see how much vision she had – basically when she could tell us. However, she developed a significant nystagmus (abnormal eye movements) and we were told that she would likely have significant vision impairment. She would respond very minimally to light, but was unable to track any visual stimuli or focus on faces – for the first probably 10-11 months of her life (most infants can do this by 6-8 weeks).
Over the course of the last year we have attended a couple of healing services, October and November 2018 and most recently September 2019, and we have witness miraculous healing in Raegan’s vision. At 7 months old (April 2019), Raegan initially started tracking red light out of the periphery of her left eye. Since this time her vision has slowly improved. Her nystagmus has improved. She is crawling across the room for her toys. She is clearly tracking objects, reaching for things. She will move out of the way of small posts (not running into things like we were told could happen!). She is copying facial expressions. It has truly been a miracle and we thank the Lord and your ministry to invite this healing into our lives. We continue to pray for her full healing, but we truly know that the Holy Spirit is doing amazing things. Come Holy Spirit! Thank you so much for your ministry!
